What can you find in Cusco?

Climate of Cusco
The weather in Cuzco is typical for mountain climates. It can be warm during the day. But you will see the temperatures dropping fast when the sun goes down at night. There are two defined seasons. The rainy season, from December to March where the temperature varies between 10 degrees at night and 23 Celsius degrees during the day or between 45 and 75 Fahrenheit. And in the dry season the temperature varies from 0 at night to 21 Celsius during daytime or 32 to 70 Fahrenheit.
Altitude: the city center of Cusco is located at about 3390 meters above sea level.
Population: the population of the city of Cuzco is about 432 000 people (2019).
Outside the city of Cusco
Just outside the city of Cusco, you can find many more places with stunning archaeological sites. The most famous ones are Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay, Tipon and Pikillaqta. A little further away, at about an hour drive from Cusco, you will find the archaeological sites and beautifully located villages of the Sacred Valley: Pisaq, Calca, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. And at a few hours from Cusco, you will find the magnificent site of Machu Picchu and Choquequirao. The Andes is also an absolute hotspot for practicing adventure sports.
